During a meeting with the Maidan Rada, Polish Foreign Minister Radosław Sikorski stated that the agreement with Yanukovych must be supported by the council, otherwise everyone will die. The supporting video, recorded by an ITV News journalist, was published on Friday. When leaving the negotiations Sikorski said, “If you do not support it there will be a state of emergency, the army will be sent in. You will all die.”

Sikorsky addressed these words to Oleksiy Haran of Ukrainska Pravda, who reported that they had talked about a possible solution to the situation.

Haran says, “I spoke at the meeting and told him that from our side we wanted to write a lot more requirements for Yanukovych in this agreement. During the meeting, Sikorski said that this is the maximum of what can be done and replied that this will prevent the country from degenerating into civil war.”

“During the meeting, Sikorski said that as a Pole, he remembers how a state of emergency was introduced in Poland and how many people were injured. Then I went over and said that as a Pole he should know very well the Munich Agreement which paved the way for the takeover of Czechoslovakia at the beginning of World War II,” Haran says. He further explains, “I told him that I hope that this will not happen. He said that I was wrong and that it will divert the country from a conflict of bloodshed. To this I responded that we shall hope so.”

“He recalled that the Munich agreement was signed with Britain, France, Germany and Italy about the fact that Czechoslovakia would hand over one of its oblasts to Hitler and a year later Hitler seized Czechoslovakia and later invaded Poland. Hence the word Munich is a stance that opens the way for aggression to the aggressor”, Haran states.

    • Why do you think that Sikorsky is a friend of Janukowytsch?
Sikorski had to stop the violence, and he dit it, the agreement was needed at that time, and what he said was true.
