On March 31, the UN Security Council held an informal meeting on the Crimean crisis by the initiative of Lithuania. Mustafa Jemiliev, one of the leaders of the Crimean Tatar people, spoke at the meeting. According to New Region, his speech has literally angered Russian representatives at the UN, and they made a scandalous statement declaring him “an odious figure,” and the session itself a “low-brow event.”
