Poroshenko unbeatable in the second round of elections

According to a survey by Research & Branding Group, 24.2% of Ukrainians would support Petro Poroshenko in the presidential elections, and 10.1% would support Yulia Tymoshenko.

7.8 % of respondents would support Vitaliy Klytschko, who has pulled out of the presidential race. Tygipko would receive 6.3 % of votes; 3.3% – Mikhail Dobkin; 3% – Anatoliy Hrytsenko and Oleh Lyashko; 2.9% – Petro Symonenko; 1.3% – Oleh Tiahnybok. 

In the second round, 40.8 % of Ukrainians would vote for Poroshenko and 15.9% for Tymoshenko if they were to win in the first round.

If Poroshenko and Tygipko were to meet in the second round of elections, 47.7 % of respondents would support Poroshenko, and 14.3 % – Tygipko. If Timoshenko and Tygipko get in the second round, votes would be divided to 35.1 % versus 16.4% accordingly.

Residents of Ukraine were also asked whether they considered the presidential elections on May 25 legitimate. 64.7 % of respondents said they generally agree and 22.4 % – generally disagree, and 12.9 % are undecided. Also, 52.8 % of respondents believe that the elections will be generally fair and democratic, 31.9 % generally do not believe in this, and 15.3 % are undecided. The survey was conducted from March 22 to April 1; there were 2,079 respondents across the country. The sampling error is 2.2%.
