The former President laments that not all citizens of the East and South were able to vote.
The former President of Ukraine Victor Yanukovich, who had fled to Russia, made another statement today. He assures that he respects the choice of the Ukrainian people at yesterday’s presidential elections.
“Early elections of the President of Ukraine have passed. Regardless of what percentage of the population came to vote in which region, which choice you made, I respect this choice, made in the most difficult time for our Motherland,” says Yanukovich’s statement from the Russian city of Rostov-on-the-Don, published by “Interfax Ukrayina.”
Meanwhile Yanukovich thinks that the first task of the new Ukrainian government has to be the suspension of the force operation in the East of Ukraine and the removal of the army from there.
“The first and main thing to do now, right now and immediately – is to stop the bloody war against their own people. Remove the army from Donbas and the Southeast of Ukraine,” says Yanukovich’s statement.
According to the former President, it is essential to “immediately stop the clash and give peace to the people.”
“Assertive action in renewing peace and order on our land is necessary,” noted Yanukovich.
