  2. I don’t want to disappoint you, but as far as I remember, France, one of European Union’s founding countries, has more intrusive regulations than this. Do check my information, but I’m pretty sure Internet service providers are mandated by law to keep all their clients’ logs for one year, not six months, just in case the police wants to have a look.

    That’s not to say Russian regulations are not a danger to individual freedom, just to put them into perspective.
