Terrorists killed in action in the border areas with Russia, near the town of Snizhne, Donetsk Oblast, and in other towns in Eastern Ukraine
Over the past day, anti-terrorist operation (ATO) forces have killed more than 150 terrorists in the zone of the ATO, said a LigaBusinessInform source in the ATO.
According to the source, the terrorists were killed in operations in the areas bordering on Russia, near the town of Snizhne in Donetsk Oblast and in other towns in Eastern Ukraine. “The operation continues. Liberation of the occupied territories is going according to plan. Morale of the soldiers is high,” the source said.
As a reminder, earlier the Ministry of Defense reported that Ukrainian special troops destroyed 12 military vehicles. The Defense Ministry also reported that over the past day, the terrorist side lost more than 40 militants who were transporting large quantities of weapons and ammunition of Russian origin.
More than 30 terrorists were detained today during the ATO in Mariupol, Donetsk Oblast. A terrorist-occupied building in the center of town was liberated. The flag of Ukraine was raised over the town council building, replacing the People’s Republic of Donetsk (DNR) flag.
As noted by the press service of the Ministry of the Interior, known criminal bosses nicknamed Jack and Colonel were among the detainees. “There is reason to suspect the latter detainee of mining the administrative buildings and their surroundings. Units of the National Guard of Ukraine, Ministry of the Interior, and Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) detained more than 30 people suspected in illegal actions in separate buildings during operations in the central streets of Mariupol,” said the Interior Ministry’s statement.
The ATO in Mariupol will be completed today. Mariupol is surrounded by checkpoints; the terrorists will not be able to return to the town. A LIGABusinessInform correspondent asked Interior Ministry advisor Anton Gerashchenko whether Mariupol, now freed from terrorists, will ever fall back into terrorist hands. Gerashchenko replied that such a situation will not happen again.
According to police operative data, the detainees seized weapons and ammunition. “These persons have been transferred to the investigative division of the Security Service of Ukraine and the Ministry of Internal Affairs,” concluded the Ministry of Internal Affairs.
