Here is the summary of March 12.

The bad news:

1. Stand-up comic and jokester Putin has clearly left this plane of reality, and it doesn’t look like he’s coming back. His  statement today about the “unlawful secession of Ukraine from the USSR” sounded like something for a psychiatrist. I, personally, have no idea which virtual world Mr. Putin is inhabiting, but it certainly isn’t this one.

And it wouldn’t be so bad, if he weren’t someone whose word will decide whether Ukraine, which has already suffered enough, will be torn to shreds even further. We clearly see that hoping for common sense from the Kremlin is pointless. Common sense has deserted them long ago. On the other hand, this reeks of swastika and the Fourth Reich dreams.

News digest March 8-9

Russia will bring more militaries from Chechnya

18th Russian  military unit which regularly based in Chechnya is now ready for departure to Ukraine from Novorosiysk, Russian port in Black Sea together with 120 units of military machines, like missiles systems ‘Grad’ (volley). Russians are disappointed with Russian militaries who assimilated in Crimea and whose behavior their bosses consider to be too soft towards Ukrainians. First 400 Russian militaries who blocked Ukrainian units in Crimea for 2 weeks have left Crimea for rotation, may of them under threat of being fired. Newcomers are more reluctant to contacts with locals in Crimea and more reserved.

More militaries to come in Transnistria, 700 extra trained militaries have been sent there already in last 24 hours. Continue reading

10:50  OSCE High Commissioner on National Minorities Astrid Thors claims that there is a great danger to the Ukrainians as well as the Tatars in the Crimea. She also added that according to her observations, there is no violation or danger to the Russian speaking citizens.

“Today in Crimea there are Russian soldiers that do not belong to the Russian Black Sea Fleet” – assert the headquarters of the Ukrainian Armed Forces. “These actions are in direct violation of international and bilateral agreements between Ukraine and Russia,” – was emphasized in the statement.
