Militants create civilian disaster scenes for Russian media

Russian terrorists  fired at Ukrainian military positions at the Kramatorsk airfield Thursday, June 19, reported ATO (antiterrorist operation) spokesman Vladyslav Seleznov on his Facebook page, reports Ukrainska Pravda. “Then the militants launched 82mm mortar fire at civilian areas in Kramatorsk,” he wrote.

Citing sources, Seleznov reported that once again Russian journalists appeared within minutes at locations bombarded by militants. A few days earlier, the ATO center had warned that militants would be shelling Kramatorsk in order to create a humanitarian catastrophe and provide appropriate images for Russian TV. Northern Luhansk Oblast under control, government says

The northern Luhansk Oblast and the city of Krasnyy Lyman have been fully cleared of terrorists, the head of the presidential administration Serhiy Pashynskyy announced at a press briefing on June 5, as reported by Ukrainska Pravda.

North Luhansk Oblast cleared of terrorists, Turchynov reports

On Tuesday, June 3, during the course of the antiterrorist operation (ATO), the northern part of Luhansk Oblast was completely cleared of terrorists, reports a statement on the official website of the Acting President and Chairman of Verkhovna Rada Oleksandr Turchynov.

“The bases and military camps of the militants in this region were destroyed, their  main fortified area in the village of Semenivka was seized, and control over the city of Chervonyy Lyman was established. In addition, the military has begun blocking the borders north and south of the Luhansk Oblast,” the statement says. Continue reading

Ukrainians stand in lines to donate blood for soldiers

People came to the Mechnikov Dnipropetrovsk Regional Clinical Hospital on Friday, May 30, as early as 6:00 am to stand in line to donate blood for the wounded soldiers who had taken part in the anti-terrorist operations in the east of the country, reported TV Channel 9.

People began to gather at dawn, answering the call from doctors at the Mechnikov hospital and eager to donate even a drop of blood, which they believe can save the lives of Ukrainian soldiers who are defending Ukraine. Continue reading

Journalist Arkadiy Babchenko: I Receive Threats Every Hour

Arkadiy Babchenko is a Russian military journalist, who has been in Donbas for a long time together with Ukrainian soldiers.

The separatists in Donbass consider him an enemy who stands “for the junta.” In Russia, it has been proposed to void his citizenship, Gosduma member have organised protests against the journalist, accusing him of liberalism. There are also calls to eliminate Babchenko.

The militants who seized the Donetsk Sergey Prokofiev International Airport have been almost completely destroyed, reports Ukrainska Pravda, citing a report by the press officer of the Armed Forces Oleksiy Dmytrashkovskyy on the Donetsk City website, Monday, May 26.

“The militants who were in the terminal have been almost completely destroyed,” Dmytrashkovskyy said. He noted that on May 26, during the military operation, militants repeatedly appealed to the Antiterrorist Operation (ATO) leadership ” with requests for negotiations.”

Fierce fighting continues at Donetsk Airport

At the Donetsk airport, the antiaircraft gun used by terrorists to fire on the Antiterrorist Operation (ATO) forces was destroyed by fire from an army helicopter, Ukraine’s Ministry of Defense reports on its website.

Monday, May 26, at 5:30, the buildings of the Donetsk Sergey Prokofiev International Airport were seized by terrorists. At 13:00 the terrorists, who illegally entered the territory of the airport, were issued an ultimatum to lay down their arms and surrender to ATO military personnel. They were informed that, in the event of non-compliance, military force to liberate the buildings and territory of the Donetsk airport might be used.
