ICC Denied Ukrainian Declaration on Court’s Jurisdiction

1654356_236730523177424_598476588_nOn February 25, 2014 the Parliament of Ukraine issued a special declaration requesting the International Criminal Court (the ICC) to exercise its jurisdiction and hold ex-president Viktor Yanukovych and other high-ranking officials liable for the events that had happened during the Euromaidan in Kyiv.

Since as far as November 30, 2013 almost a hundred peaceful protesters (now referred to as “the Heaven’s Hundred” for their heroic sacrifice) were shot or beaten to death by the internal armed forces and special unit “Berkut”, and thousands were injured during the clashes in Kyiv. Continue reading

MVS Opens Case against Civic Organization Tsentr UA, Founder of the CHESNO Movement and Active Euromaidan Participant

The Ministry of Internal Affairs (MVS) is conducting a criminal investigation (kryminal’ne provadzhennia) regarding the civic organization Tsentr UA under the article on “money laundering of funds acquired illegally.”  Organization members found this out after they and their organization’s partners were approached en masse by policemen who asked them to give testimony or come to investigators’ offices.  Over last Friday, the police visited at least 10 people; in addition, they know that they plan on questioning about 200 people overall.  The investigation (provadzhennia) was begun on December 11, 2013, but it only became active now.  All the people involved for the time…

New Criminal Case Fabricated Against Yuriy Lutsenko

Security Service of Ukraine (SSU) sent a requested to mass media demanding they “immediately provide all available video materials” containing public declarations of the former minister Yuriy Lutsenko at the Maidan on January 22, 2014.

Evidence for International Tribunal being gathered on criminals from “Berkut”

Twelve leading lawyers and former political prisoners will collect evidence of such violations that allegedly took place during the peaceful protests and forward the collected facts to the international tribunal.
