Klitschko’s First Moment of Shame

Vitaliy Klitschko has not even spent a week as mayor, but he has already discredited himself. He appointed as his chief advisor, or head of his advisors group, a certain Ihor Nikonov.

This person is not familiar to ordinary readers. I’ll explain: he is one of the most aggressive developers in Kyiv, someone who directly says that he dreams of building a skyscraper in Kyiv that he saw in New York some time ago. Moreover, Nikonov is a partner of Dmitriy Firtash and Vagif Akiev and the godfather and nearest neighbor to Serhiy Lyovochkin. The Klitschko brothers got acquainted with Nikonov since he worked together with Ihor Bakay and the brothers were under the roof of the gas oligarch.

The Future of Maidan

The newly elected mayor of Kyiv, Vitaliy Klitschko, has announced that Maidan – the heart of the Euromaidan revolution in the center of Kyiv – will be cleared in the near future. We agree. Euromaidan has driven the dictator out; and it is now time to rebuild the nation. The people still on Maidan should either go to fight the Russian invasion in the east; or return to their communities, and ensure that corruption is cleansed from the nation – even in the smallest villages.

Kaum wurde bekannt, dass Klitschko die Mehrheit der Stimmen für den Posten des Bürgermeisters von Kyiw bekommen hat, ist er mit einer Erklärung aufgetreten, die Regierung sei lustriert worden, der Maidan solle sich auflösen, alles sei vorbei.
Er war sogar auf dem Maidan. Aber die Menschen sind empört – er hat die Kyiwer aber nicht um Rat gefragt. Eine der Aktivistinen hat ihm vorgeschlagen, so zu arbeiten, dass der Maidan sich von alleine auflöst, und es nicht mit Gewalt zu versuchen.

Viele der Maidan-Aktivisten sagen, dass die neue Regierung versucht, sie zu bestechen. Ihnen werden Summen von 50 000 bis zu 100 000 Hrn. (5 000 € bis 10 000 €) angeboten, damit sie weggehen.

Viele sagen, sie sind auf den Maidan nicht nur gegen Janukowytsch herausgekommen sondern auch gegen die Korruption an sich. Und sie wollen so lange bleiben, bis sie erkennbare Fortschritte sehen; auch wenn Janukowytsch weg ist, ist sein Erbe aber immer noch da. Wenn aber die neue Regierung die Versprechen nicht einhält, wird es noch einen Maidan geben.

Der Maidan ist ein Staat in einem Staat geworden. Für viele ist er zu einem Heim geworden, nachdem sie alles verloren haben. Dort leben auch Flüchtlinge von der Krim und aus den östlichen von den Terroristen besetzten Gebieten.

Es wurde ein Zentrum für die Unterbringung der Betroffenen gegründet.

Interfax-Ukraine: Independent MP Petro Poroshenko would gain the most votes from the Ukrainian electorate if the presidential elections were to be conducted at the beginning of March, according to a poll conducted by the Kyiv International Institute of Sociology from February 28 to March 3 for a commercial client.

The number of those surveyed was 1,022 people.

Second in the poll came UDAR party leader Vitali Klitschko, and third was Batkivschyna all-Ukrainian union leader and ex-Prime Minister of Ukraine Yulia Tymoshenko.

Klitschko announces 8 steps to resolve crisis in Ukraine

The parties to the Budapest Memorandum must ensure that the Russian Federation complies with its obligations to preserve the sovereignty, independence, and territorial integrity of Ukraine,  Vitaliy Klitschko, leader of UDAR and presidential candidate, told 1+1, a national television channel in Ukraine.

Klitschko stressed that, in order to resolve the conflict and prevent military aggression by Russia, eight issues need to be addressed:
