On 1 March 2014 at 17.21 (Kyiv time), the Council of the Federation of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation (the Council of the Federation) unanimously supported the appeal of the President of the Russian Federation, Mr. Vladimir Putin, on sending a “limited contingent of military troops” of the armed forces of the Russian Federation into the territory of Ukraine. Andriy Portnov, lawyer for the regime, has blood on his hands

Society today is yearning to see harsh punishment for officials who have abused the nation these past few years. What people crave most is justice for those responsible for the deaths of innocent Ukrainians, whose blood is on the hands of Interior Minister Vitaly Zakharchenko, Prosecutor General Viktor Pshonka and, of course, President Viktor Yanukovych.

For some reason, however, Andriy Portnov, first deputy head of the Presidential Administration [under Yanukovych], does not figure prominently on the list of “key pillars” of the regime. This is unfortunate.  He is, after all, the one responsible for the raider-like attacks on the Constitution and for transforming the courts into a tool of repression for the regime.

Here is a synopsis of the most recent events:

1) On February 12, we learned that ALL criminal proceedings have been closed, under which ‘law-enforcing’ thugs could theoretically be held accountable for the beatings on November 30, December 1, December 11, etc. This applies to proceedings regarding specific individuals and in relation to the incidents as a whole.

This means the death of the last, however elusive, chance to punish the perpetrators – “managers,” organizers and performers of brutal police crimes, who are likely members of, and managed by, a group of people from among the highest ranks of government. The government has announced that these criminals shall have complete and unconditional amnesty.
