The Prosecutor General’s Office of Ukraine reports that Luhansk oblast prosecution offices are conducting investigation in connection with a criminal proceeding over the violent murder of a married couple in front of their underage daughter. Information on this criminal event has been filed with the Unified Register of Pretrial Investigations, with charges under Article 115 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (intentional homicide of two or more persons perpetrated by a group acting in prior conspiracy).
- The members of football clubs “Metallist” (Kharkiv) and Chernomorec (Odesa) announce a march for the “Unity of Ukraine”, which is to take place at 15:00, starting on the Sobornaya Square, and ending near the football stadium “Chernomorec”;
- 14:30: Pro-Russian activists gather near the Alexandrovskiy Prospectus. They wear marks, helmets and have shields, and are armed with sticks, bats and axes.
- Pro-Russian activists start marching towards the Sobornaya Square, while police makes weak attempts at stopping them;
On April 20, 2014 a shootout broke out on the checkpoint of the so-called ‘Donetsk people’s Republic’ at the entrance to Sloviansk close to Bylbasivka village. There are victims on both sides.
As the press service of the Interior Ministry informed, at 02.20 unknown persons on four cars approached the specified checkpoint and opened fire on people who were on duty there. Shots were fired in response. Continue reading

Vitaly Naida, one of the counter-intelligence chiefs of the Secret Service of Ukraine, announced that Russian servicemen are tasked with killing a few hundred people and after that sending regular troops into the territory of Ukraine.
“The main goal of diversionist and the Special Forces on the territory of Ukraine is to destabilize the situation to a maximum level,” he said. “Moreover the intercepted talks give us information and it is sad to say it that the country which declared itself as “fraternal” has given the task to its special forces to shed blood on the streets of our cities,” he said. Interior Minister Arsen Avakov reported that the police in Mariupol “had conducted an operation to localize a gang of 300 assailants.”
During the night of April 16-17, unidentified armed attackers stormed military base 3057.
“There are no losses among our servicemen. According to preliminary information, 3 assailants were killed, 13 were wounded and 63 have been detained. Their weapons were confiscated. Their communication devices and mobiles are connected to Russian operators. We’re currently proceeding with the identification of the attackers.” wrote Mr. Avakov on his Facebook page. The head of the Ministry of the Interior’s Alpha special forces troops admits that its snipers were sent to the Presidential Administration building, and then to the Cabinet of Ministers building. Volodymyr Chovhaniuk, the head of Alpham discussed the issue at a meeting of the temporary parliamentary commission investigating the shooting of people on Maidan, reports LIGABusinessInform.
Answering the question whether there were snipers deployed on February 20, he said: “On February 20, the Head of the Center received the command to send people to the Administration of the President to protect … I was not present in the AP or in the building of the Cabinet of Ministers. The ex-chief of the Alpha Special Forces of the Secret Service of Ukraineh Volodymyr Chovhanyuk asserted that the Trade Union’s House was set on fire by the protesters. He made this claim at the meeting of the Verkhovna Rada Interim Committee of Inquiry into the Mass-shooting of the People, LIGABusinessinform reported. Medics who volunteered on Maidan believe that because of the clashes on Maidan Nezalezhnosti and related events, 780 people died. The allegation comes from volunteer medic Anastasiya Polishchuk at a briefing in Kyiv on Thursday, Interfax-Ukrayina reported.
“This number includes 300 people who disappeared from the hospitals (emergency hospitals and other medical institutions); they were taken away and burnt in the crematories. These people have been asked for and have been looked for but can’t be found,” she said. Continue reading

According to the head of the Security Service of Ukraine, Nalyvaichenko, there is reason to believe that Russia’s FSB was involved in the mass killings in Kyiv. He spoke about this at a news conference on Thursday.
