“Pavlo Pavelko Murdered to Stage Escalation of Violence in Sloviansk” (Translated from Russian by William Risch, Georgia College)
The man killed last night at a checkpoint in the Sloviansk area has been identified.
Roman Burko wrote about this on his Facebook page.
“Pavel Pavelko was the one killed. He was a local resident of the village of Oleksandrivka, Sloviansk District. His relatives went around today during the day to collect money for his funeral. He leaves behind a wife and two small children. He’d been driving his car in the middle of the night. He was stopped at a checkpoint and shot. They set his car on fire. Everyone our source questioned in the village said that Pavlo had been set up and that he’d been killed to make up an attack by Right Sector and a subject for Russian news channels. So here you have the kinds of gory stories they produce for Russian TV…”
Last night there allegedly was a shootout near Sloviansk which Right Sector militants allegedly took part in. The news came from separatists and Russian media, who in turn quickly turned it into a media sensation.
The Security Services of Ukraine (SBU) made a statement that said that the shootout in Sloviansk was a provocation by the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation (GRU VS RF) and separatist militants and that Ukrainian forces had nothing to do with it.
Russian foreign minister Sergei Lavrov hastily concluded that Ukraine had violated agreements made in Geneva.
