13 Ukrainian Soldiers Have Died During the Fight Near Volnovakha, Turchynov says

turThe Chairman of Verkhovna Rada, Acting President of Ukraine Oleksandr Turchynov, declared that on Thursday morning 13 Ukrainian soldiers were killed during the fight near Volnovakha near Donetsk.

“Throughout the fight to protect the town of Volnovaha from an attack and attempt to occupy by members of a separarist group). Our soldiers protected this town. They did not let the attackers advance. However, under the fire of grenade-gun and heavy automatic weapons, 13 men have tragically died for Ukraine,” Turchynov reported this at his meeting with the members of the Ukrainian Council of Churches and Religious Oranisations, that took place on Thursday in Kyiv.

Turchynov Hopes Courts “Put a Period to CPU’s Existence”

Ukraine’s Acting President Oleksandr Turchynov has instructed the Ministry of Justice to probe actions made by the Communist Party of Ukraine. Turchynov announced the measure during remembrance events in “Bykivnyanski Mohyly” reserve in Kyiv on May 18, Interfax-Ukraine reports.

“Today I have signed an official letter to the Ministry of Justice of Ukraine, in which I urge the Minister taking into consideration all the materials given by the Security Service of Ukraine and General Prosecutor’s Office on the illegal anti-constitutional activity of the Communist Party,” Turchynov reported. poThe parliamentary fraction of UDAR intends to raise the question about Oleksandr Turchynov’s resignation from the posts of acting speaker of the Verkhovna Rada and acting President of Ukraine.

Turchynov said that the attempt by Right Sector to storm Verkhovna Rada was organized by Russia

Oleksandr Turchynov, acting President of Ukraine and Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada (VR), believes that yesterday’s attempt to storm the Parliament building was organized by Russia. He pointed out during his speech to the Parliament that he gave the order to dismantle the fence around Parliament, and it is now open to all citizens.

He opined that arrangements will eventually be made for anyone who wants to visit Parliament to do so.

“The fact that Parliament has been opened, that Parliament did not ask for armed protection from the Ministry of the Interior, does not mean that Parliament can be assaulted and humiliated,” he said.

1. We express our support for the legitimate government of Ukraine and call on it to fully restore constitutional order and affirm citizens’ political, economic and other fundamental rights and freedom. We note, in particular, the urgent need for a decisive, consistent and systematic fight against corruption, which eats away at our society and violates the tenets of our religion.

2. We affirm once again our statement of 22 February 2014, which categorically condemns any sort of discussion of a potential division of our homeland and any attempts at separatism and emphasizes “the territorial integrity of Ukraine, whose independence is a gift from God and is valued by our entire nation, which is why  have no right to allow for its separation, as this would be  a sin before God and future generations.”

In the course of conversation that was held at the initiative of the Russian Party, Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada Oleksandr Turchynov told Patriarch Kirill that there are no reasons to speak about discrimination on grounds of language, nationality or religion in Ukraine. “There were no such facts that there will not be,” he stressed. 
Apart from this, the Chairman of the Parliament emphasized lack of “judicial, political or any other reasons for bringing Russian military contingent into the Crimean peninsula.”
