The Head of the Ministry of Defence Explained Why Slovyansk Has Not Been Freed Yet

Kyiv – There are numerous instances of abuse of power regarding provision within the Armed Forces, which the commandment is trying to operatively solve. This was stated by the acting Minister of Defence Colonel General Mykhailo Koval during his report to the Parliament. He also admitted that the rear services have turned out to be unprepared to carry out new tasks which have raised during the anti-terrorist operation, however now the situation has been rectified. Meanwhile the Verkhovna Rada has not put up the issue of providing a state of emergency in Donbas for discussion.

Medic students from Kharkiv are giving assistance to the wounded during the ATO

The leadership of the Kharkiv City Administration and Kharkiv Medical University are providing a volunteer movement of student medics in the military hospital and other medical centres where those wounded in the anti-terrorist operation are to be found.

This is reported by the first deputy Minister for Healthcare Ruslan Saliutin live on Channel 5. “The civil volunteer aid is always needed by our soldiers and our civil wounded, but especially soldiers,” he noted.

Volyn declares mourning for fallen soldiers

The Ukrainian soldiers of the 51st Mechanized Brigade who died last night in the Donetsk Oblast during a battle with pro-Russian militants were from the Volyn Oblast, reports Radio Svoboda, May 22.

The permanent base of the battalion is in Volodymyr-Volynsky. The Volyn Oblast has declared two days of mourning for the fallen. Thursday, May 22, during commemorative events in the “Proshchanycia” area in Volyn, participants honored the memory not only of the UPA soldiers who died there but also of members of the Heaven’s Hundred and the fallen soldiers.

13 Ukrainian Soldiers Have Died During the Fight Near Volnovakha, Turchynov says

The Chairman of Verkhovna Rada, Acting President of Ukraine Oleksandr Turchynov, declared that on Thursday morning 13 Ukrainian soldiers were killed during the fight near Volnovakha near Donetsk.

“Throughout the fight to protect the town of Volnovaha from an attack and attempt to occupy by members of a separarist group). Our soldiers protected this town. They did not let the attackers advance. However, under the fire of grenade-gun and heavy automatic weapons, 13 men have tragically died for Ukraine,” Turchynov reported this at his meeting with the members of the Ukrainian Council of Churches and Religious Oranisations, that took place on Thursday in Kyiv.
