After Horlivka deputy Volodymyr Rybak was kidnapped, almost all of the Horlivka police moved to the side of the separatists and no investigation (into the murder) was conducted, Olena Rybak, the widow of the murdered deputy, stated in an interview with Hromadske TV on June 2.
“Not only did they not help me, they constantly threatened me. Both the separatists and the local authorities who supported them,” she said.
“There were very many versions regarding the kidnapping and murder of my husband. And everyone picked the version that was convenient. All denied that the separatists were involved in this crime.” she said.
According to Olena Rybak, after some time, the Horlivka police nevertheless began to investigate the murder. As a result, the Russian terrorist Igor Bezler (Lieutenant Colonel in the GRU, Russian military intelligence — Ed.) seized the police officers involved in the case and put them in the basement where there were pools of blood. He warned them that “if they do not close the case, the same thing would happen to them as to Rybak.” she said.
